Dynamics

There are 3 Dynamics plugins. Change between modes by clicking the arrows beneath the screen.

  • Ratio knob
Controls how much the compressor reduces the volume once the signal passes the threshold (e.g., 4:1 means 4 dB in, 1 dB out).
  • Threshold knob
Sets the level above which compression begins to take effect.
  • Attack knob
Determines how quickly the compressor responds after the signal exceeds the threshold.
  • Release knob
Controls how fast the compressor stops compressing after the signal falls below the threshold.
  • Gain knob
Boosts the output level to compensate for the volume lost during compression.
  • Auto Gain Switch
When enabled, the gain will be increased as the threshold is decreased.

The OTT plugin is a multi-band dynamics processor, featuring 3 bands of upwards and 3 bands of downwards compression.

The Red Boxes represent the downward compression of each band.
The Blue Boxes represent the upward compression of each band.

  • Ratios
Drag in any of the boxes to control the compression ratio of the band.
  • Thresholds
Hover your mouse at the top or bottom edge of the band to show the threshold handle. Drag vertically to adjust.
  • Band Frequencies
Hover your mouse in the vertical gap between bands to show the frequency handle. Drag horizontally to adjust.
  • Band output gains
The 3 meters to the right show the level of each band.
The horizontal bar represents the current band output gain.
Click and drag vertically to adjust the gain.
  • Input knob
Boosts the input signal before compression to drive the effect harder.
  • Ratio Knob
Scales the ratios for all 6 compressors.
  • Time knob
Adjusts the overall attack and release speeds of all bands, affecting how quickly the compression responds.
  • Amount Sliders (per band) – Show and let you adjust the upward and downward compression applied to each band.
  • Mix knob
Blending between the dry and fully processed signal.
  • Reset Button
Sets all parameters back to the OTT defaults.
  • Attack
Controls how quickly the gate opens once the input signal exceeds the threshold.
  • Hold
Sets how long the gate stays open after the signal drops below the threshold, before starting to close.
  • Release
Determines how quickly the gate closes after the hold time has passed.
  • Threshold
Sets the level below which the gate closes and attenuates the signal.
  • Range
Sets how much the signal is reduced when the gate is closed (e.g., -∞ dB fully mutes, -10 dB just lowers the volume).
  • Mix knob
Blending between the dry and fully processed signal.
