UltraWave Mod Sources

The UltraWave Osc has three additional mod sources relating to UltraWave playback:

  • Pitch
  • Amp
  • Position

Position Mod Source

  • The value of current wavetable position is used as a mod source.
  • In Automatic playback mode, the current wavetable position is controlled by the playback engine, start, end, loop points and the length in time of the Sound.
  • In Wavetable playback mode, the current position is controlled by the Wavetable position knob.

Amp Curve Mod Source

  • The value of the amp curve at the current wavetable position is used as a mod source.
  • This can be considered an Envelope follower for the UltraWave sound.

Pitch Curve Mod Source

  • The value of the pitch curve at the current wavetable position is used as a mod source.
  • The default range of the output is to use the pitch curve values between +1 and -1 semitones. This is a decent value for most usages.
  • If your sound has more pitch range (a kick drum pitch curve might be +8 Octaves), you might want to change these values.
  • Click the small arrow above the pitch graph to launch the pitch source range popover.

The pitch range is saved in the Patch, but can also be saved in the UltraWave itself. Clicking the set button will copy the values into the UltraWave. Don't forget to save it if you want to keep these values.
