Wavetable File Import
The Wavetable import mode is designed to import Wavetable data files.
These files are usually .wav files, and contain the cycle data of the Wavetable, one after the other.
When importing these files, the data is chopped up into cycles and an UltraWave is created.
Start a Wavetable import by:
- Dragging a file to the UltraWave Osc screen
- Clicking the Import Wav option in the menu under the UltraWave Osc screen
Wavetable File to UltraWave Conversion
The Wavetable will be converted to an UltraWave with the following attributes:
- It will be placed in the center of the UltraWave note / velocity map .
- If you are adding to a map, or importing multiple wavetables, they will be distributed evenly in the map
- Attack samples are not created
- Pitch Curves are not created
- An amp curve is created, which stores the volume of each cycle in the original Wavetable
- All cycles are placed evenly in the Cycle timeline
Frame size
- Adjust the frame size control to choose how the audio data is chopped up
- Your goal is to create repeating cycles. If you choose the wrong value, the wavetable will not play back correctly
Frame size 128 is not correct, as it does not create repeating cycles
Frame size 256 is correct, the cycles repeat
UltraWave playback length
When the UltraWave osc is in automatic playback mode, the play head will move through the cycles over time. Use this control to specify the default playback length.
Other wavetable synths typically have you control the Wavetable position manually. You can switch to manual playback mode if you want to control the position in this manner.
Saving to your library
- You can choose to import the wavetable to your current patch, or save to the library
- If you save to the library, the current patch will be unchanged
Importing multiple wavetable files
- You can select multiple Wavetable files to import
- This allows you to import all the files from a folder into your library, or to your current patch
- When importing multiple files, the Frame Size and Playback length will be applied to all files
